Development-oriented Security Specialist for the Swedish Air Force

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position is under the Security Section (A2X) detail for Exposure of security-sensitive activities that conducts the Air Staff's security service under the leadership of the security manager. Your task is to independently handle security-related matters within the framework of the Air Staff and the Swedish Air Force's security-sensitive operations. The tasks are varied with good opportunities to utilize your experiences and competencies for the best possible effect.

In this position, you will represent the Air Staff's security service in meetings with other organizational units within the Armed Forces, other authorities, and the defense industry.

The position is based in Linköping but requires regular travel to Uppsala where the Security Section is located. If your competency profile needs to be supplemented for the position, an introductory training period in Uppsala may be required.

The position will involve travel both nationally and internationally.

MAIN TASKS

• Provide support to the Air Staff's Security Manager within the security service
• Support the Swedish Air Force's operations within security protection
• Support the operationally responsible manager at the Air Staff's Technical and Maintenance Department in security protection matters

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Approved high school education
• Good computer skills, primarily within the Office suite
• Strong ability to communicate and express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Driver's license minimum B

Meritorious

• Previous or current employment with any of the Armed Forces' security units
• Professional experience in independently handling matters or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Swedish Armed Forces training in security (KHS or SOK)
• Level-raising training in security protection
• Experience in staff work within security service
• Experience working within the Swedish Air Force's operational areas
• Experience in staff work within the maintenance and upkeep of the Swedish Air Force's material systems
• Familiarity with working within security protection classified systems

Workplace Development

You will receive basic training in security service as well as deeper training in the field. Good opportunities to broaden your competence in security protection will be offered.

It is also important that you feel responsible and have the ability to see the big picture. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to work independently as the position is located outside the Security Section's regular geographical placement.

OTHER

Employment form: Civil permanent employment. The employment may start with a six-month probationary period for applicants who are not currently employed within the Armed Forces.

The primary and largest task of the Air Staff is to support the Air Force Chief's leadership of all squadrons and schools in the Air Force at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, implements, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Air Force Chief. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees. The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units and is tasked with monitoring and protecting Sweden's airspace. This is a mission that continues around the clock, year-round, to ensure Sweden's integrity. Approximately 5100 employees, both civilian and military, work within the Air Force.
