The Role of the Nurse

As a nurse in the emergency department, you have a holistic view of the patient and are involved in assessing their need for care and treatment. You are responsible for nursing, observation, medication, and collaboration regarding acutely ill patients of varying ages and with different medical, surgical, urological, or orthopedic conditions. We want the patient to be involved in their care. This means that information is a very important part of your work. We work in teams with different professions, and together with other staff, you work to provide the patient with good and safe care and a professional approach. As a nurse, you lead and distribute the work within the team. You will work three shifts: days, evenings, and weekends.

Your Future Workplace

The emergency department handles acute illnesses and accidents that cannot be managed at the health center. We are open 24/7, all year round. Our operations have a broad and varied mission in close collaboration with other clinics in the hospital, with tasks ranging from individual patient meetings to being an actor in the hospital's disaster organization. About 50 people work in our clinic.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or graduating in June 2026. We are looking for someone who wants to broaden their nursing profession, has a strong interest in emergency care, and a desire and curiosity to learn new things. To ensure good summer planning, we view positively if you can work at least 6-8 consecutive weeks during the summer. Orientation will take place in addition to these weeks.

If you enjoy rapid changes in work pace, a lot of variation in your work, and want to develop in your professional role, then you will thrive with us! For you to succeed and feel comfortable in your new role, we see that you are stable and controlled in stressful situations. You take initiative and are responsible for your own tasks as well as for the unit's overall performance. It means a lot to us that you have a positive attitude towards both tasks and colleagues, and together we create high patient safety and good accessibility, with the patient in focus.

Great importance is placed on good collaboration skills and personal suitability.

Before the summer of 2026, we will hire nurses for summer positions starting both in January and later in the spring. There are great opportunities for extension and permanent employment.
