Laboratory Medicine is a regional clinic within the healthcare administration in RVN. We have about 150 employees in total within the clinic. Operations are conducted in clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical immunology, and transfusion medicine. We are available around the clock at our hospitals in Sundsvall, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik. Laboratory Medicine is accredited according to Swedac SS-EN ISO 15189.

At the unit in Örnsköldsvik, we have about 25 licensed biomedical analysts working in the disciplines of clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine. We have a positive spirit within the team and are good at supporting each other in our work.

As a summer substitute, you will learn 1-2 work placements. The first 2-3 weeks are for introduction/training so that you can then work independently with the support of your colleagues. The mission of Laboratory Medicine Örnsköldsvik is the same around the clock every day of the year, and therefore we need you to fulfill our mission this summer.

We are now looking for biomedical analysts/laboratory assistants for the summer of 2026! The positions are temporary full-time contracts starting by agreement until August 2026.

As a biomedical analyst at Laboratory Medicine, you will work in the disciplines of clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine. The tasks within clinical chemistry are varied. You will, among other things,

Work with sample collection

• Sample collection
• Sample handling
• Analysis work
• Result reporting
• Quality work
• Equipment maintenance
• The work is performed using both manual and automated methods and techniques

In transfusion medicine, you will work with

• Blood donation
• Component preparation
• Blood group serological examinations

Since we operate around the clock, the work may involve working during inconvenient hours.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed biomedical analyst, studying to become a biomedical analyst, or has other education/competence that the employer assesses as equivalent
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you

• Have work experience in clinical laboratory work
