Welcome to Tallink Silja Line! Working on board means varied tasks, responsibility, collaboration, and development. We offer a job in an exciting and international environment, where we work together at a fast pace and have fun along the way – always with our guests in focus! On board our ship Silja Symphony, we have a wide range of restaurants, including à la carte, grill, seafood, and buffet.
We are now looking for someone who is experienced and skilled primarily in the cold kitchen, with some experience in the hot kitchen, and who wants to work in a permanent position on board our ship Silja Symphony.
As a Chef, your main task is to create high-quality food that contributes to satisfied and returning guests. Together with your colleagues, you create a strong and cohesive work environment, where well-being and pride are important to offer our guests the very best.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has 3–5 years of experience as a chef
· Has at least 3 years of experience as a cold kitchen assistant
· Has relevant culinary education
· Has a passion for cooking and a desire to participate in the creative process
· Has good teamwork skills with a strong sense of service
To succeed, you should be positive, social, and have a genuine interest in cooking. You are goal-oriented and engaged in your work and have the desire to develop. You are flexible and used to working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working in a team to achieve goals through good collaboration. You value and work according to Tallink Silja's guiding principles: joy, commitment, collaboration, and professionalism.
When you work on board, you are part of the safety organization, so it is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, which is our safety language. Everyone who will work on board undergoes a health examination to obtain a Medical Certificate for Seafarers. This is organized and funded by us at Tallink Silja. In addition to the health examination, you must have citizenship in an EU/EES country and a valid passport.
