Tibro municipality is now implementing a targeted initiative to expand the competence within the common student health services. We are therefore looking for a speech therapist and a special educator who want to contribute to preventive and health-promoting work and together with us strengthen the opportunities for our children and students to have the best conditions to develop and reach as far as possible in their knowledge development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a speech therapist within the common student health services, you will work across the municipality with our preschools and primary schools up to and including grade 4.

The speech therapist is organizationally placed in the common student health services and has the student health manager as the immediate supervisor. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other professionals within the common student health services.

As a speech therapist, you provide consultative support to student health teams, work teams, and school management.

You assist in the early detection of language, reading, and writing difficulties by providing the organizations with tools and knowledge to early recognize signs of linguistic vulnerability. This means helping staff understand early warning signs, identify risk factors, and choose pedagogical adjustments that can be quickly implemented. In this way, interventions can be provided before various difficulties have had time to affect the child's or student's learning.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Contributing speech therapy expertise regarding language, speech, and communication difficulties
• Working with early interventions in close collaboration with the organizations
• Providing guidance and support to staff, work teams, and school management
• Providing guidance to student health teams (EHT)
• Participating in the development of accessible learning environments at the individual, group, and organizational levels

The position is not medical. It does not include diagnostics or treatment and does not include advice to guardians.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed speech therapist
• Enjoys a guiding and consultative working style
• Has good collaboration and communication skills
• Wants to work across the municipality and contribute to equality

Experience working in preschools and/or schools is an advantage.
