Your Role

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our exciting and challenging work to develop world-class vessels for the Swedish Navy. As a Configuration Manager, you will be part of our customer projects where we develop, modify, or maintain submarines. The customer is often the Swedish Armed Forces, but can also be foreign armed forces. In the projects, you will work closely with project management, responsible for the vessels' configurations and ensuring that technical data is correct over time, thus contributing to the development and maintenance of our products.

Main tasks include:

• Identify, implement, and maintain configuration processes and activities in projects
• Create and implement plans and working methods in projects
• Establish and maintain Product Baselines
• Lead configuration change forums, CCB
• Establish status reports
• Support project management in all configuration-related matters
• Guide and support other departments in the organization in configuration-related matters

As we always strive to find new and better ways, you will also be part of developing Saab Kockums' future configuration capabilities.

You will become part of the Configuration Management section. The section is part of the Project Management Office within Saab Kockums' business unit BU Submarine. The section is located in Lund with a total of five configuration managers and three project administrators. The section is currently expanding to meet future project needs.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who wants to take on a complex task that requires initiative, drive, and motivation. You have probably worked as a configuration manager or in other leading roles in development projects or in the maintenance of complex facilities or products.

You see the big picture and find it rewarding to identify and drive improvements. You are interested in doing things efficiently and take the initiative to develop our processes and methods. You thrive with freedom under responsibility and in building open and trusting working relationships.

To thrive in this role, we believe you recognize yourself in some of the following:

• Driven and appreciate finding efficient ways to work
• Academic background, preferably with a technical focus
• Relevant experience in configuration management or related areas such as project management, systems engineering, or quality
• Experience working in PDM/PLM systems
• Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, in Swedish and English
• Easy to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and subcontractors
• Structured and appreciate order and tidiness

Desirable:

• Knowledge of configuration management according to ISO 10007
• Experience working with complex product structures
• Experience defining and specifying PDM/PLM systems

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. Positions where Saab has requirements for security classification may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
