About the workplace

For many of our tenants in special housing, the dining experience is the highlight of the day. We continue to work to improve the dining experience for our elderly by strengthening our team with a new role as meal hosts.

You will be part of our meal organization, MatOmsorg, and your work will be performed independently and with your own drive at the residence where you primarily work. Your work hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.

Job responsibilities

As a meal host, you are responsible for creating structures that contribute to a pleasant and positive dining experience for our tenants. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen that delivers the meals to create the best possible conditions. You will oversee meal and food orders and ensure healthy inventory management.

Part of your work will involve inspiring and guiding the care staff on issues such as how to create a welcoming environment in the dining room, how meals should be handled, and how we can continue to reduce food waste. You will also be involved in planning for holidays and special days where the meal is the focus.

Your responsibilities will also include being an ambassador for our meal representatives working in the organization, and you will be part of a network with other meal hosts to ensure consistency and shared understanding across the entire operational area.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an education, at least at the upper secondary level, in fields such as restaurant, service, or food, or alternatively have another education that the employer deems relevant. You should have a good awareness of climate impact and how to counteract food waste. It is important that you are computer literate and comfortable working with the Office suite.

You will collaborate with colleagues who have different linguistic backgrounds, and you are expected to contribute your expertise in a clear and pedagogical manner in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Experience working in a similar role, in elderly care, or knowledge of nutrition for the elderly is a merit.

Your application applies to all of our special housing units. Your placement will be determined based on need. Since the role of meal host is new in our organization, the assignment will be evaluated continuously, and the work's structure may be adjusted as needed.
