Job Responsibilities

Do you want to help create safety, joy, and movement for people of all ages? Do you have a background in pool lifeguarding or similar training and a passionate commitment to health, service, and meeting people? Then Hammarbadet could be your new workplace!

We are now looking for a lifeguard who wants to be part of a competent and dedicated team in a smaller, yet vibrant facility.

As a lifeguard, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you are a key person in the guests' experience. You will be responsible for pool supervision, ensuring that the facility is clean, safe, and pleasant, as well as providing our guests with professional and good service. Service and a warm welcome from our reception are also important parts of your work.

At Hammarbadet, there is a teaching pool, a reception, and a gym. The facility is a place where we work together to inspire physical activity, strengthen public health, and create meaningful experiences for all visitors. One of our most important goals is to increase swimming proficiency and improve public health for the people of Gothenburg. We also have a special mission to welcome and support people with disabilities, where we offer adapted services and contribute to making their experience safe, positive, and developmental. We are proud to be an inclusive organization that makes a difference every day.

The unit consists of a unit manager who leads and drives the operations together with a team leader and six employees. Together, you will meet people of all ages and from many parts of the world. Here, you will use your listening skills, service sense, and ability to build trust. You will work in a dedicated team where we strive together towards the same goal; to give each guest a really good experience. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed high school and is trained as a pool lifeguard or has other training in swimming, wellness, and health that is deemed equivalent. You have experience working in a swimming pool and with service, as well as good computer skills and can navigate various IT systems. You need to master Swedish well in both spoken and written form. It is an advantage if you have experience working with target groups with disabilities, as well as children and youth. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have experience in cleaning and working at a reception.

For this position, we place great importance on your personal qualities and competencies. To thrive in the role of lifeguard with us, you take responsibility for your and the group's common tasks. You have a good attitude and a genuine interest in other people, where you find solutions and want to help provide good service. You have good collaboration skills, working well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. At the same time, you have the ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment and take initiative without relying on others. Furthermore, you are confident and can balance different demands while remaining calm in difficult situations.
