Vafabmiljö is looking for a Work Environment Specialist

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and drive the work with the organization’s work environment issues and help create structures that support safety, quality, and long-term development.

You will belong to the Quality unit and work together with colleagues who, in various ways, are working to develop and improve working methods at Vafabmiljö.

About the role

As a work environment specialist, you are responsible for identifying and analyzing risks in the work environment and coordinating systematic risk assessments within the organization. You lead work environment forums where issues are followed up, prioritized, and developed. Changes in legislation are continuously monitored to ensure that the organization complies with the Work Environment Act and current regulations.

You develop the systematic work environment efforts together with managers by planning and conducting training that strengthens their knowledge and confidence in the assignment. You produce clear instructions and materials that make it easier to work in a uniform and sustainable way. The role also involves participating in investigations of incidents and accidents and providing managers with support in translating lessons learned into practical work environment efforts.

Collaboration is an important part of the assignment. You work closely with colleagues in quality, environment, and safety, sharing questions, perspectives, and experiences to develop working methods together. The role also includes dialog with safety representatives and other functions through safety committees and various forums. You are also proactive in the implementation and further development of the IA system, which contributes to a common structure for monitoring, learning, and improvement in work environment efforts.

The assignment requires the ability to navigate many different contact points and to act with integrity in complex situations. You need to be able to listen to different perspectives while being able to raise issues in the right forums and advance work environment issues in a professional and factual manner.

We see that you have:

• Relevant academic education in work environment and safety, or other education deemed suitable by the employer, combined with documented work experience.
• Several years of experience working with work environment issues, particularly in physical safety.
• Good experience in interpreting and applying work environment legislation and regulations.
• Experience working consultatively and supporting managers, team leaders, project managers, etc., in work environment efforts.
• Knowledge in leading projects to implement improvements and changes in the organization.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Driver's license, manual.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• Worked in transport, industry, construction, production, or similar environments.
• Experience with practical implementation of the IA system or similar work environment systems.
• Experience in safety work, fire prevention, or accident prevention.

The position is permanent full-time with placement at the headquarters at Navet in Västerås, Gasverksgatan 7.

You are expected to be able to travel to our various facilities in the region; a pool car is available for loan.
