Endoscopist for the Endoscopy Unit at Södertälje Hospital

At Södertälje Hospital, we work in a process-oriented manner where the Surgical-Orthopedic-Urology Unit is one of the main processes.

We are also responsible for the Endoscopy Unit. In the endoscopy unit, endoscopic ultrasounds, gastroscopies, colonoscopies, and standard therapeutic procedures are performed in both outpatient and inpatient care. We have assignments for colonoscopies for colorectal cancer screening. The hospital has a Diagnostic Center that generates a significant number of referrals to our endoscopy unit.

In three endoscopy rooms, around 3000 procedures are performed annually. Sicker patients undergo endoscopic examinations under general anesthesia in the operating department. Otherwise, we conduct examinations under Propofol sedation on suitable patients in the endoscopy unit.

We have a close collaboration with the Internal Medicine Unit, so there is an opportunity for gastroenterology consultations in the position. If you are a surgeon, surgical activities may also be included in the role.

We conduct a lot of training within the area, so an interest in educational matters is prioritized. We also welcome candidates with research interests.

Your personal qualities:

Your qualifications:

• Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• Swedish medical license and specialization in gastroenterology or surgery with specific competence in endoscopy
