About the job

Then we would love to see you as an employee within the Community Sector in Lidköping municipality! We are now looking for an environmental and health protection inspector with experience primarily in contaminated areas, waste, individual sewage systems, and industries.

About the organization

We have recently reorganized within the Community Sector where we have created a joint area for Environment and Construction to utilize resources and competencies more effectively over time. We strive for an organization that is communicative, transparent, and service-oriented with a clear belonging within the sector, as well as ensuring the organization's ability for digitalization initiatives and business development.

The new area consists of six teams led daily by a team leader. You would belong to the team for environmental and health protection. The team leaders, together with the area manager, form the management group of the area.

Job responsibilities

The Community Sector has many assignments within the environmental area, and depending on your background, experience, and interest, you will also have the opportunity to develop and work within the other assignments of the Community Sector. This may include tasks within the municipality's strategic planning, development of detailed plans, or acting as a resource for various tasks and investigations within your specific professional area.

The position involves many daily contacts in meetings, in writing, and by phone. You plan and conduct inspections within one or more inspection areas, handle cases, and follow up on compliance with legislation. A strong focus will be on early dialogues with our customers to clearly and pedagogically explain the conditions within each case.

Examples of job tasks: Handle applications/notifications, investigate complaints, conduct internal and external inspections according to the Environmental Code, provide information and advice to business operators and municipal residents, review reports.

We have a digital working method and are driven to continue developing our operations and our working methods together with other areas within the Community Sector. Our goal is to do the best for the customer. With us, you will work with various types of cases of varying complexity together with your colleagues.

Who are you?

You have experience as an environmental and health protection inspector and feel ready to become part of our team. You have education in the field of environmental and health protection or other education or experience that is deemed equivalent. We prefer that you have knowledge of the Environmental Code and other laws, regulations, and directives that govern our assignment.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in, for example, contaminated land, waste, individual sewage systems, and supervision of larger B-facilities. A driver's license is a requirement.

It is crucial that you are open and flexible to the needs and wishes of the customer. To thrive in the job, you need to be able to work in a structured manner as you handle cases that are in different phases. You need to have high social competence and find it easy to collaborate with others. You are good at expressing yourself in speech and writing and can independently make decisions. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
