About Water and Environmental Resources

Water and Environmental Resources ensures that you receive fresh drinking water from your tap every day and a clean local environment. We work to make your everyday life function here and now, and to ensure that nature's resources last. We exist so that future generations can also enjoy the mountains, waterways, forests, and land.

The company is owned by the municipalities of Berg, Bräcke, and Härjedalen. We are responsible for the operation of the owner municipalities' water and sewage supply, producing and distributing drinking water, as well as managing and treating wastewater. The company is also responsible for the municipalities' waste management, collecting and handling waste and sludge. In total, we have over 100 employees.

We operate over a large geographical area and have offices in Sveg, Hede, Funäsdalen, Svenstavik, Hackås, and Bräcke, which provides great opportunities to work from different locations. Currently, several larger projects are underway, including a major expansion of municipal water and sewage in Härjedalen. The purpose is to ensure a long-term stable operation for water and sewage supply, with increased environmental requirements and exploitation in tourist areas.

We are now seeking reinforcement for our water and sewage department in Sveg/Ytterhogdal/Lofsdalen, where the area manager will support our team leader in operations. As an area manager, we hope you are passionate about working with daily operations and long-term improvements to help employees develop and strive towards set goals together.

About the Position

Water and Environmental Resources manages the operation of the water and sewage supply for the municipalities of Berg, Bräcke, and Härjedalen.

The area's facilities consist of water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, pipelines for water and sewage, as well as pressure boosting and pumping stations. In Sveg/Ytterhogdal/Lofsdalen, these are managed together by two local team leaders and 14 operation and pipeline technicians. The area manager will be part of the management team of the VA department along with the VA manager and other area managers, KMA, and strategic functions. In this role, you will be responsible for the area's work environment and administrative tasks. You will lead maintenance planning, budgeting, and purchasing in collaboration with the department manager and purchasing coordinator. The investment budget for Sveg/Ytterhogdal/Lofsdalen is approximately 20 million and the operating budget is approximately 25 million.

A central part of the role is the responsibility for the work environment for all employees within the area, which requires leadership with good foresight, engagement, and drive in issues related to systematic work environment management. Another important part of the assignment is to create good collaborations across departmental and municipal boundaries, contribute to decision-making support, and ensure processes and routines that create conditions for implementation and good results.

About You

A driver's license is required for the position and on-call duty may be included.

We see that you have:

  • previous experience as a manager or team leader in the water and sewage industry, or equivalent experience from process/manufacturing industry, property management, construction, or civil engineering.
  • experience as a client towards contractors and/or suppliers.
  • leadership experience with personnel responsibility.
  • technical education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.
  • good computer skills within the Office suite.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • experience with maintenance systems and operational monitoring.

You are a person who:

  • has a genuine interest in developing the business and employees, wants to influence, improve, and take responsibility.
  • has a broad technical understanding with a focus on the whole.
  • has the ability to see your employees' potential and stimulates their development by broadening responsibilities and providing constructive feedback.
  • has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
