Job Responsibilities

As a senior social worker, you will provide support and guidance to both new and experienced social workers in their daily work. The main task of the senior social worker is to provide case supervision and methodological guidance, both individually and in groups. The role includes staying updated on new research, legislation, and directives, as well as being responsible for implementing these in everyday operational work. You will be involved in creating and maintaining routines and effective processes in daily operations. In close collaboration with the section manager and the section's senior case handlers, who support the practical work, you will follow up on the development and further needs of the social workers, the unit's goals and results, and drive the unit's development forward.

As a senior social worker, you will:

• Act as an expert and support social workers in their daily work with the goal of enabling them to work independently
• Provide emotional support and act as a sounding board in various situations that employees may encounter within their role as social workers
• Be responsible for reviewing case handling based on applicable legislation and guidelines, considering the best interests of the child or young person
• Read written materials and provide feedback
• Identify and drive improvement proposals
• Participate in the development of the operations
• Maintain methods and assessment tools so that these are used in daily case handling
• Represent the operations in city-wide projects
• Be involved in creating and maintaining a good working environment

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker and has several years of relevant experience in public authority work according to the Social Services Act concerning children and youth. You therefore have very good knowledge of current legislation and case handling of children, youth, and their families, as well as good knowledge and experience of BBIC. We also want you to have previous experience in driving quality work. It is advantageous if you have experience of collaboration with both internal and external parties and are accustomed to speaking in front of and conveying messages to groups.

Since the work involves a lot of documentation, high demands are placed on your administrative skills and your ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing. The position of senior social worker also requires that you have good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work, as well as ensure that tasks are completed and feedback is provided in a timely manner.

In your daily work as a senior social worker, you carry significant responsibility in setting the tone for the interaction with the families we meet, with the best interests of the child or young person in focus. You are communicative, clear, attentive, and humble in your role, and have the ability to formulate information or messages so that everyone understands. Furthermore, you are secure and stable in yourself and in your work. You maintain calm and have the ability to keep the right focus even in pressured and complex situations.

As a person, we see that you have a good ability to coach, motivate, and challenge employees to develop in their work. Furthermore, we also see that you easily adapt to different people and situations, and that you can meet each employee at their level and according to their needs for support and guidance in their work.

About the Workplace

The area of operations for Individuals and Families is divided into two departments with different assignments and focus areas. These areas are intervention and investigation. Within the investigation department, we are now looking for a senior social worker for our office at Von Troils väg 1 for one of our investigation groups for environmental cases. You will work in section Norr Öster 1, which is part of Unit Children and Family Norr Öster. The unit consists of four investigation sections with the same assignment, and each section consists of 11 social workers, 1 senior case handler, 1 senior social worker, and 1 section manager. Norr Öster 1 is a section with engaged employees who show great care for each other.

In your role as a senior, you will have close collaboration with the section manager, senior case handler, and other senior social workers in the unit.
