Engineer in Radio and Secure Communication

Are you an engineer with knowledge in the radio field and an interest in secure communication and exciting projects within Total Defense? Combitech is looking for engineers for our expanding business area focusing on radio technology and secure communication. Based in Växjö, you will have the opportunity to work in one or more areas including requirements specification, testing and integration, documentation, IT security, and project management, depending on your expertise. Your Role as a Systems Engineer in Secure Communication

As a radio engineer with us, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting tasks, such as testing and evaluating communication systems. This primarily takes place in a laboratory environment or on-site with one of our clients. You may also work on the design and development of test equipment for both hardware and software, as well as providing support and service to customers for implemented systems.

You will be involved in several phases of the projects, from requirements specification and evaluation to testing, verification, and integration of system solutions. After commissioning, you will also provide technical assistance, operational support, and carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance.

We also offer technical expertise, administrative support, and project management to our clients. The scope of these tasks varies depending on the nature and phase of the project. The main focus is on SDR, Software Defined Radio, but areas such as operations, maintenance, and security are also involved. You may work on issues related to radio and IP communication, wave propagation, or antenna technology.

You will be part of several teams that support you to ensure you have the best possible conditions. The work can be performed at any of our offices, but business travel is a natural part of the job. Travel mostly occurs within Sweden, but international trips may also take place.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with radio competence or a technical background in the field; other engineering areas are also of interest. You can be further along in your career or just starting out; both options are interesting. Experience working within the armed forces/defense industry is an advantage.

A driving license (B) is desirable but not a requirement, as some business trips are facilitated by driving. Fluent Swedish and English in both speech and writing are required, as the work is often documented in report form and may involve contact with both national and international actors.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently as well as in a team and has the ability to take initiative. To succeed with us, it is important that you are technically interested and have a good technical understanding. We value personal qualities such as interest and commitment to what you undertake, as well as the willingness to learn new things.

As the position involves work that is subject to defense secrecy, you must undergo and be approved in a security clearance with background checks.
