Information Specialist at Malmö City

The IT and Digitalization Department (ITD) within Malmö City is tasked with leading and coordinating IT and digitalization, ensuring that Malmö City acts as an organization with common goals and guidelines. Digitalization plays a crucial role in addressing societal challenges and future welfare missions. In our digitalization journey, we see access to quality information and effective information exchange as a fundamental prerequisite for successful digitalization - and for making information a strategic resource for the entire city.

We are therefore looking for an information specialist who wants to help build and strengthen our competence in the information area. You will have a unique opportunity to shape Malmö City's digitalization journey through sustainable information management.

Responsibilities

You will belong to the Development Unit at the central IT and Digitalization Department.

In close collaboration with our information architect, you will play a key role in ensuring that Malmö City achieves an efficient, data-driven operation with access to high-quality information.

A significant part of your time will be spent close to the operations within Malmö City. With your knowledge and experience, you will serve as a qualified support and advisor to the operations. The work aims to find solutions that are sustainable, feasible, and well adapted to the needs and conditions of the operations, in accordance with Malmö City's principles for information management.

You will have the opportunity to influence the details of the role's design, but the responsibilities include:

• Mapping and documenting the information needs and flows of the operations.
• Concept and information modeling.
• Developing and implementing methods and specifications that enable a common and purposeful management of information.
• Acting as an advisor and working on the standardization of information according to relevant international and national standards, classifications, and code systems.
• Planning, leading, and conducting competence-enhancing activities within the area of responsibility.
• Monitoring the external environment within the area of responsibility.

Qualifications

You have a relevant higher education, preferably in information science, information architecture, or systems science with a strong interest in information management, or another education combined with experience that we consider equivalent.

You have excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English. You find it easy to communicate with, for example, operations, developers, and specialists in information security.

Since the role is new, you have a great opportunity to influence and shape it.

It is an advantage if you have experience in the public sector and have several years of experience in:

• Mapping and documenting the information needs and flows of the operations.
• Modeling.
• Planning and leading workshops.
• Working with information standards.
• The operations' needs for output data.
• Working with master data.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic and complex environment. You are a good communicator, easily build relationships and trust, while being responsive to the needs and challenges of the operations.

You have the ability to understand complex relationships and can switch between a helicopter perspective and concrete needs. You are driven to participate in and lead change work. Your pedagogical ability allows you to create participation and engagement, both individually and in groups.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your commitments.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.

We are located in new modern premises at Kungsgatan 6 in the heart of Malmö.
