The Umeå plant is one of the biggest within the Volvo group. In Umeå we have 1800 employees and are one of the largest industries in northern Sweden. We produce cabs for Volvo trucks, all the way from a sheet metal coil to a painted cab, it all happens here in Umeå.

Stamping Engineering Department – Your future workplace and colleagues
You will be part of a team responsible for developing the industry’s stamping dies for both today’s and tomorrow’s products. Teamwork and collaboration are a big part of our working day, both internally and externally, domestically and internationally.
Main work tasks:
- Investigate, develop business cases, buy, follow-up, try out, and improve new dies.
- Cooperate with production and maintenance to ensure the dies function in current production.
- Investigate and implement changes and improvements on both existing and new dies.
- Update documents related to the dies. For example, drawings, CAD data, and die standards.
- Participate in and partly lead the development and improvement of both technology and ways of working related to dies.
- Be responsible for stamping dies in the assigned part of the cab. Have a leading position regarding that part in project and product changes.
Traveling will be mandatory during project phases. Travel length and frequency are determined based on the demands of each project.
Who are you?
You are systematic, thorough, and have a good ability to cooperate. You find it natural to involve colleagues in changes and improvements.
We are looking for you who:
- Have a relevant university degree.
- Can communicate well in many different situations.
- Have good social skills and work well both in teams and independently.
- Have a structured and goal-oriented way of working.
- Have knowledge in LEAN theory and have a great interest in improving and developing both technology and ways of working.
- Have project management skills and experience.
- Have a genuine interest in stamping dies through their entire life cycle.
Meritorious knowledge and experience:
- Die simulations in Autoform.
- Die design and development.
- Die standards.
- CAD knowledge, preferably in Catia.
- Die projects within the automotive industry.
