The French School is a Swedish non-profit free school with roots dating back to 1862. We follow the Swedish curriculum, teaching is conducted in Swedish, but students learn French from preschool class. Prior knowledge of the French language is not a requirement at the school but a fantastic opportunity for those who thrive in an international environment.

The school is located in central Stockholm near S:t Johannes Church. School Nurse – Do you want to make a difference every day?

We are a free school with both primary and secondary education, and we are now looking for a school nurse who wants to become an important part of our student health team and contribute to an inclusive and health-promoting school environment.

We are looking for an engaged school nurse who wants to work preventively, health-promoting, and contribute to our students reaching their full potential. With us, you will have a role where you truly make a difference – every day.

Your responsibilities

As a school nurse with us, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with the school management, the student health team, and the school's educators.

You will be responsible for:

  • Student health visits and health checks according to the basic program
  • Vaccinations according to the national program
  • Health-promoting and preventive work at the individual and group level, such as health conversations
  • Active participation in the school's student health team
  • Support and advice to students, guardians, and staff
  • Documentation and record-keeping according to applicable regulations
  • The assignment also includes vaccinations according to the general vaccination program,
  • Basic healthcare interventions and participation in school doctor appointments.

You will meet students from primary school to high school, which provides a varied and developing work experience.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a professional demeanor and a good ability to work in a structured and organized manner. You enjoy collaborating with teaching staff to support and motivate students to reach their full potential. Your ability to create trusting relationships makes you an important person for the students.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in pediatrics, district nursing, or school nursing
  • Have experience working as a school nurse
  • Have a good ability to create trusting relationships
  • Enjoy working both independently and in a team
  • Be structured, responsible, and have a health-promoting approach
  • Have good communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Have good computer skills, as documentation is done in the ProRenata journal system.
  • Have an interest in preventive health work and in developing the school nurse role through new methods and approaches.

Meritorious:

About the position

As a school nurse with us, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with school management, counselors, school psychologists, special educators, and other educators. You will be responsible for:

  • Student health visits and health checks according to the basic program
  • Vaccinations according to the national program
  • Health-promoting and preventive work at the individual and group level
  • Active participation in the school's student health team
  • Support and advice to students, guardians, and staff
  • Documentation and record-keeping according to applicable regulations

You will meet students from primary school to high school, which provides a varied and developing work experience in a flexible and student-centered free school environment.

Application

The position is a permanent employment at 100% with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Start date by agreement. The position is located centrally in Stockholm at the French School, Döbelnsgatan 9.

To work in preschool and primary school, you must, according to law (2000:873), present an extract from the criminal record at a potential employment.
