Göteborgs Symfoniker AB is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Västra Götalandsregionen. The operations are conducted in culturally protected premises in the Concert Hall at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg and is one of the largest cultural institutions in Västra Götaland. Each year, a large number of events are held in the Concert Hall in the form of concerts and conferences, both organized by us and rented out to external organizers. Concerts with our own orchestra, the Göteborgs Symfoniker, constitute the main part of the concert activities. Göteborgs Symfoniker is Sweden's National Orchestra, an orchestra with international brilliance.

Job Description

The Concert Hall has an À la carte restaurant with seating for about 50 guests. Lunch is served on weekdays for the orchestra, à la carte for concert visitors in connection with performances, and larger events/conferences and banquets are occasionally arranged in the Götaplats foyer. Our catering service has a strong interest in the environment regarding both food and drink. More about our services and what we offer can be found on our website. There you can also read about our orchestra and the activities of Göteborgs Symfoniker, which annually attracts over 200,000 visitors. The workplace is located in culturally protected premises in the Concert Hall at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg.

We are now looking for serving staff who can lead the work and be responsible for the restaurant together with our audience & service manager.

We offer a dynamic workplace where the restaurant visit enhances the entire artistic experience for the guest. You will work with a high standard menu and organic ingredients. We have a larger selection of wines and adjacent to the restaurant, a wine bar where we sell our exclusive wines and snacks. You will work as a team with the restaurant manager, chefs, and serving colleagues during the evening.

In addition to à la carte service for our concert guests, you are also expected to take shifts at conferences. The shifts are usually scheduled in the evenings and on weekends, with the exception of conference shifts. The shifts are normally 5–8 hours. You are expected to work at least 2 shifts a week.

To apply, you need to:

  • Have 2 years of documented experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in an À la carte restaurant.
  • Be able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Be fluent in Swedish and have very good knowledge of English.
  • Have good knowledge of food and wine.
  • Have good collaboration skills.
