Description

Are you an engaged, competent, and driven leader who wants to work for a good living environment and provide excellent service for the residents of Lilla Edet? We are looking for a unit manager to lead our knowledgeable and dedicated employees and drive the operations forward with a focus on developing efficiency, collaboration, and communication.

The Community Sector plays a central role in creating an attractive and sustainable municipality where people thrive to live, work, and engage. As a unit manager in the food unit, you report directly to the sector manager and are part of the sector's management team. The food unit is one of the operations in the sector and is a unit with shared management.

Together with the other unit manager in the food unit, you will lead 43 employees distributed across 16 kitchens, both production and reception kitchens. The kitchens are geographically spread throughout the municipality.

Responsibilities

In your role as unit manager for food, you actively carry an inspiring role in the municipality as a whole, and together with your employees, you work proactively and strategically while delivering high-quality service and excellent dining experiences daily.

The assignment is varied with high potential for development. You will collaborate with other sectors where meals are an important part of the operations. Together with your employees, you will work on operational development and cost-effectiveness while promoting a good working environment.

You will have personnel, budget, operations, and working environment responsibilities, along with associated administrative tasks. You will participate in municipal projects and food procurement where you represent the food unit.

Since the operations are personnel- and event-driven, you thrive on having many tasks running simultaneously and have the ability to maintain a structure based on decisions made to prioritize work effectively. To succeed in the assignment, you need to be service- and collaboration-oriented and have an easy time maintaining and creating new contacts.

Qualifications

To fit the role, you are expected to:

  • have a relevant higher education or university degree and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • be responsible for goal fulfillment, personnel, working environment, finances, as well as quality and development work
  • lead through trust-based and developmental leadership
  • have a good ability to make decisions
  • be communicative in speech and writing

Knowledge and experience of process-oriented work methods and project management are meritorious. Practical experience of working in a politically governed organization is also meritorious. You should have strategic leadership ability and operational understanding, as well as the ability to shift between both perspectives to achieve success in the role.

As a person, you should be action-oriented and take responsibility for your tasks. Your leadership is clear, and you have the ability to create good relationships and engaged employees. You are solution-focused and have a positive attitude that you can convey to colleagues and employees. Through your inclusive and trust-based leadership, you contribute to great engagement for change and development among your employees. In change work, you combine drive and patience to create energy and engagement in the operations.

As a person, you are secure, stable, unpretentious, and have good self-awareness. You should easily take the initiative for new activities to achieve set goals.

Conditions

A valid driver's license (B) is required. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
