The kitchen at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås is a tray kitchen responsible for the production of both patient meals and food for our restaurant.

Job Description

As a chef, you will be offered a developing job where you prepare and cook good, safe, and healthy meals for our patients and visitors. You will have variation in your work and will be involved in everything from daily planning, meal preparation, and special diets to responsibility for follow-up and self-checks. Your tasks will also include collaborating with kitchen staff and staff on the wards to meet patients' needs and provide the best service to both patients and guests in our restaurant.

Working hours are scheduled during daytime with varying times, Monday to Sunday.

To provide good service in the role of chef, you need to:

• show interest, willingness, and commitment to perform a good job
• be meticulous and responsible
• have a good attitude and collaborate well with others
• be flexible and able to switch between different tasks

You have completed a secondary education in restaurant and food, or another secondary education that, together with work experience, is considered equivalent. You have a strong interest in cooking and a desire to develop and learn more in the culinary profession. Furthermore, you are required to have current knowledge of self-check programs and food hygiene.

You need to communicate well in Swedish as you will have dialogues with customers and colleagues, as well as follow written and oral work instructions. As a person, you are meticulous and drive your work forward, while being able to easily adapt to new conditions. Furthermore, the job requires an interest in the presentation of food, both for patients and guests in the restaurant, where the meal should be a positive experience for the eye as well as for the taste. You have good IT and computer skills.

Previous experience in preparing special diets and experience with the ordering system Matilda is an advantage for the position.
