Ankarsrum
We are now looking for a part-time firefighter for the rescue service in Ankarsrum.
About the position
Being a part-time firefighter, or on-call rescue personnel as it is also called, means that you have a regular job or occupation that you can leave when an alarm goes off. Within five minutes of the alarm, you must change into alarm clothes and sit in one of the station's rescue vehicles. Therefore, you must live and/or work relatively close to the rescue station.
As a part-time firefighter, you have an important community function. You work on standby and are alerted in case of accidents and other urgent events. A regular position consists of 7 days within a four-week period. In pool service, the employment rate varies. The job also involves regular drills and other tasks within the rescue service.
The rescue service in Västervik is organized into four standby groups responsible for round-the-clock readiness. We are looking for those interested in a regular position as well as those who can work within our pool service.
- A regular position means being on standby for seven days during a four-week period.
- Pool service means that you support regular staff as needed without your own standby schedule. When a regular position becomes available, you will have the opportunity to transition to such a position.

- Be able to swim.
- Hold a B driver's license and be prepared to obtain a C driver's license during the first year of employment.
Training and introduction
No prior experience in the rescue service is required for the position. Training for part-time firefighters (GRIB) is provided by the employer and lasts a total of 7 weeks (4+3). The training is paid.
The basic training is planned to start in the spring.
Recruitment process
The recruitment takes place in several stages:
- The first selection is based on the application with a cover letter and CV, as well as meeting the formal requirements.
- The second selection involves a treadmill test and an interview.
Employment is contingent upon passing the aforementioned tests and medical approval from occupational health services.
