Senior Cybersecurity Expert at Combitech

Are you an engaged cybersecurity expert ready for new challenges alongside like-minded individuals? Combitech is now seeking senior staff for the Intelligence & Response unit. As a member of the team, you will be part of a unit consisting of several knowledgeable specialists in investigation and intelligence who work closely with clients and at the forefront of methods and technology.

Your Role as a Senior Cybersecurity Expert

As a senior member of the team, you will have a leading role and work closely with your colleagues within the unit, which consists of about 30 individuals spread across the country. You will support and coach junior colleagues by acting as a sounding board in their assignments and participate in missions alongside others in the team. You will have frequent check-ins where you share experiences, methods, and what is new in the field, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions when you encounter problems. As a senior expert in investigation and intelligence, you will also focus on ensuring that, together with the team, you have the prerequisites to do a good job with everything from the right equipment and methodology to the way we communicate and present our interim and final results.

You often work as an Incident Manager in our investigations, both internally and externally, where your role is to ensure that the investigators have the conditions to succeed and that our client receives all the information they need to solve the task in the best way possible. Typical tasks include reviewing and sizing IT environments from a security perspective with your closest colleagues or investigating and analyzing intrusions in IT systems and environments, monitoring and following trends among attackers, or performing reverse engineering of various types of malware. It is also common for you to participate in one or more client meetings to help our salespeople and clients specify assignments and approaches so that nothing is overlooked. In doing so, you also plan assignments with the various components involved and ensure that the right people and competencies are in place to solve the task.

Our assignments cover several industries and segments. We often work in pairs or groups, and even with independent assignments, support is close at hand. The assignments conclude with reporting and presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical recipients, in Swedish and English.

We primarily seek staff in Stockholm but are open to other locations for the right candidate. Travel is frequent and planned with consideration to personal circumstances.

Clients are found across various industries, focusing on critical infrastructure such as defense industry, banking & finance, energy, and government agencies. Desired knowledge includes frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM, TIBER & NIST, as well as certifications like OSCP or from SANS or ISC2.

Our advanced IT environment includes tools for pentesting, such as cracking machines, vulnerability scanners, and virtualization platforms. In our Växjö lab, tests of connected products and prototypes are conducted, where we investigate and manipulate systems to access data or influence functions. The lab enables distributed testing from different locations.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is experienced and confident regarding approaches, methodologies, and techniques in IT security and has encountered many types of IT environments and industries in your career. We also believe that you are used to helping plan and define assignments and test plans for projects.

At the core, you have a technical education, but your experiences and personal qualities weigh more than a specific degree. We believe that you have experience working with Cloud and are accustomed to working in Microsoft or AWS environments, focusing on security features, design, and implementation. You are used to writing comprehensive technical and explanatory reports and presenting results from tests to both technicians and management.

We see that you have extensive experience in investigations, cyber threat intelligence (CTI), or penetration testing and possess deep expertise in one or more of the following areas. This may include Cloud architecture and security in Azure or AWS, security testing and reviews in the form of Threat Intel & Red Team, penetration testing (Black box, Grey box, White box), scenario-based testing, and threat actor simulation. It may also encompass network design and structure, communication & protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancing, and storage. Other relevant areas include IT forensic investigations and reverse engineering, environmental monitoring focusing on CTI, intelligence & threat actor profiling, as well as architecture, hardware, operating systems, virtualization, and containers.

As a person, you are open, social, and unpretentious. You are structured in your work and have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English. You find it easy to collaborate with others and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the unit. Since the position involves work subject to defense secrecy, you are required to undergo and be approved in a security clearance with a background check.
