We are now looking for a new colleague for the position of specialist nursing assistant! We are based at Skånegatan 9, centrally located in Gothenburg with good transport links.

As a specialist nursing assistant in home care, you work closely with people and provide support in each person's daily life. You perform care and support work for individuals in their own homes. In your role, you motivate and stimulate the elderly based on their individual conditions, needs, and wishes. As a specialist nursing assistant, you will provide methodological guidance in close care work, in complex care situations, and introduce new colleagues. The services are granted based on assistance and can vary from personal care, support during meals, assistance in social activities, and certain health care tasks, as well as collaboration with relatives. In your work, you are expected to have advanced knowledge in psychiatry. Your specialist skills will contribute to quality-enhancing efforts, including guiding and supporting other care staff.

Your job responsibilities include being a fixed care contact, planning, executing, documenting, and following up on care work with the person in need of support and assistance. It also includes performing health and medical care and rehabilitative interventions as prescribed by a nurse, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. All social documentation is done digitally. If you have not previously used the systems used within Gothenburg City, you will receive training in these. The individuals we meet need support both during the day, evening, and weekend. Your working hours are therefore scheduled.

You will be exposed to many people's life situations, which can be both interesting and challenging. As a specialist nursing assistant in home care, you work independently but also together with others in the shared care work. We work according to the Social Services Act and the national value base, focusing on the individual's needs at the center.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Trained nursing assistant and can present the Social Board's certificate of protected professional title
• Higher vocational education with at least 200 YH points in care and support, specializing in psychiatry
• Work experience in care and support
• Since we document and communicate in Swedish, you need to be able to speak and write Swedish

Meritorious but not a requirement

• Work experience in mental health
• Experience in methodological guidance
• Comfortable using a bicycle as a work vehicle
• Work experience in care and support
• Class B driver's license

Personal Qualities

As a specialist nursing assistant in home care, you are friendly and helpful to others even in stressful situations. Work in home care consists largely of independent work and personal responsibility, but you also work together with your colleagues. You listen, show interest, and respect for those you work with.

As a specialist nursing assistant, you have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You convey information clearly both verbally and in writing. The tasks vary based on the needs of the care recipient, so it is important that you can change how you work when things change.
