The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for the municipality's libraries, cultural schools, sports halls, and sports facilities, open children's and youth activities, grants to associations and study associations, cultural activities, Vårby library with Children's Art, Fullersta Gård, art purchases, and the distribution of scholarships and awards in sports and culture.

About the youth centers

Our youth centers operate in an open format for young people in middle school. Here they can meet in a safe place with inviting hangout areas and trustworthy adults. Activities offered include table tennis, billiards, video games, crafts, baking, café, sports hall, quizzes, music studio, podcast studio, stage, and studio for creation, etc.

Glömsta youth center is located in Glömstaskolan, and Segeltorp youth center is located in Segeltorpsskolan. Employees from both youth centers work closely together as an extended staff group for staffing and planning/meetings. The unit manager is also responsible for Rådsparken's petting zoo and mobile youth leaders during school breaks.

About the job

In your role as a part-time youth leader, you will help us strengthen the youth center activities as needed. You will be involved in planning and implementing activities, engaging and involving young people in activities, and ensuring that the youth center is inviting and attractive for our visitors. In addition, you are expected to report your availability for shifts, stay updated via weekly emails, and participate in meetings/training called by the employer.

Working hours for afternoon shifts Monday-Thursday from 14:00 - 17:30, Friday from 13:30 - 17:30, and evening shifts Wednesday, Friday, and odd Saturdays from 17:30 - 21:30. There may also be opportunities to work at other youth centers within Huddinge Youth.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• Documented experience working with the target group aged 13-16 years, preferably as a youth leader, social pedagogue, or equivalent.
• Good self-leadership and a strong sense of responsibility, with the ability to handle and solve situations/problems that may arise in daily operations.
• Very good collaboration skills and responsiveness, with an ease in building good relationships with young people and colleagues.
• Flexibility and availability to work 1-2 shifts/week in the afternoons and evenings during school terms.
• Very good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

• Experience with MVP leisure, youth democracy, LGBTQI, and functional variations.
• Experience with the Office suite, Canva, Youth app, and social media as work tools.
• Knowledge in any of these areas; music, studio technology, instruments, drama, sports, art, or culture.
• Driving license (B).

You should be committed to promoting and allowing young people to express themselves, develop, and pursue their interests. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and good competence/chemistry in relation to the rest of the work team.
