About the Organization

Solenskolan is a F-6 school with approximately 300 students and 40 staff members located at the southern entrance to Härnösand. In addition to the primary school activities F-6, we have three after-school departments. The school is multicultural with a large proportion of multilingual students, and we work with a language-developing approach where we see multilingualism as a strength. Practical and aesthetic activities are a natural part of our daily operations. The proximity to beautiful coastal and forest environments is utilized in the best way both during the school day and in after-school activities.

Our everyday life is characterized by collaboration with a focus on students' learning and development. We create common goals and make optimal use of our competencies. It is natural to work closely with colleagues on joint planning and structures. In the role of teacher in the after-school program, you are responsible for planning, teaching, and evaluating the activities based on the curriculum and other governing documents. At Solenskolan's after-school program, we work based on a common pedagogical foundation developed from research and proven experience. Our goal is to create educational activities through conscious pedagogical efforts in students' free activities where students' influence and interests are given great importance.

About the Position

You contribute to creating an environment aimed at strengthening our students in both their knowledge development and personal growth and future confidence. With completely separate facilities for after-school activities, the learning environment is an important part as we change and develop it to support students' development and learning. In this position, you have several pedagogical assignments based on your qualifications and competencies, which makes your days varied.

Safety and value-based issues are an important part, and we actively work on various levels to create a good common climate. As a teacher in the after-school program, you are also responsible for organized recess activities as part of Solenskolan's safety work. You offer students daily teacher-led play, provide students with a rich variety of games and activities, and allow students to practice their leadership by organizing their own activities.

Good relational competence is a strength that we highly value, and we see that you collaborate with parents in a neutral and safe manner.

Qualifications

Teaching degree with qualifications to teach in after-school programs according to teaching certification. A requirement for working in the school is a valid extract from the police criminal record.

Meritorious

• Previous experience working as a teacher in after-school programs and being well acquainted with the curriculum's content.
• Ability to create learning situations where students are given the opportunity to succeed.
• Experience working with outdoor education and planned recess activities.
• Experience and knowledge of language and knowledge-developing approaches.
• Good knowledge of digital tools.
• Experience teaching sports, art, and technology.

Working Hours/Duration

The position is a permanent employment. A probationary period may be applied.

The position is filled subject to the necessary decisions being made. Start date January 7, 2026. If there are no applicants with the required certification, other applicants may be considered, and employment as an unqualified teacher will then be applied.
