Kumla Municipality Invests in Youth Leisure and Sports!

We have a relatively new sports operations unit that has taken over the responsibility for Kumla's ice rink and football facilities. Therefore, we are now looking for a caretaker. You will be part of the leisure department, which belongs to the culture and leisure administration, and play an important role in creating safe, well-maintained, and inspiring sports environments for the municipality's residents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a caretaker within sports operations, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of several of our facilities, including the ice rink, football fields with artificial and natural grass, sports fields, and sports halls.

Your tasks will vary throughout the year and may include:

• Operation and maintenance of the facilities
• Marking of playing fields
• Operating the ice machine in the ice rink
• Mowing grass, trimming, and repairing grass areas
• Managing irrigation systems and electric fences
• Maintaining goalposts, equipment, and robotic lawn mowers
• Coordinating purchases and materials
• Cleaning and snow removal

You will work closely with associations and other operations, contributing to ensuring that our sports facilities maintain high quality, give a good and well-kept impression, and are ready for activities year-round. Working hours are varied; daytime, evenings, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you to have:

• Work experience in practical property maintenance, landscaping, or similar
• Experience handling simpler machines and equipment
• A valid driver's license (B)

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working in or around sports facilities
• Knowledge of artificial grass, irrigation systems, or basic technical maintenance

We are looking for someone who is practical, responsible, and flexible, with a good eye for what needs to be done. You enjoy working independently but also like to collaborate with colleagues, associations, and other operations. You can communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and meet visitors, associations, and suppliers in a professional and service-oriented manner. The role requires you to be cooperative and able to plan, structure, and take responsibility for your tasks.

You do not need to have all the experience from the start. The most important thing is that you are curious, willing to learn, and have a positive attitude towards varying tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
