Planning Engineer at the Fortifications Agency
Do you want to make a difference in a socially important organization? We are now looking for an engaged and driven planning engineer for the technical unit in the East region. The position is based in Stockholm, Karlberg, but tasks occur throughout the region.
The Fortifications Agency owns, develops, and manages robust defense properties for peace, crisis, and war. With our unique expertise in defense properties, we create secure environments for a robust total defense.
Responsibilities
The Technical Unit East covers Stockholm and Gotland County. The unit is divided into two groups, northern and southern, to best meet customer needs. The twenty-five property engineers in the unit primarily carry out assignments from the current manager and are closely supervised by their respective group leaders. In addition to a technical manager for the entire unit, there is also expert support in energy, road/land, and protection and construction technology.
The primary task of the regional planning engineer is to provide production and functional support to the region's managers and technical unit within the asset management. Part of the job is to support the managers in the early stages where you act as a link between production and functional management. Another part is to provide administrative expertise so that both implementation, follow-up, and completion of activities occur in a correct and traceable manner. You report directly to the technical manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and gather data and conditions for maintenance and investment planning
- Compile and deliver data for monthly reporting to the management support unit
- Coordinate the follow-up of planned maintenance and owner-related investments regarding time, economy, and quality within the region
- You provide support in the early stages of projects when managers make calls and contribute your expertise in several technical areas
- Documentation coordination and quality assurance of project documentation
- Follow-up on agreements and management rights
- Support in CAD and GIS tasks for the asset management
Work with project management of adjustments, maintenance, and investment projects may also occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field. You have several years of experience in property management and management or project economics. You have good knowledge of administrative IT support systems and express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. A driver's license (B) is required, as travel is part of the job.
It is advantageous if you have a fortification education, and if you have experience and the ability to place facilities in an operational and tactical context, that is also a merit.
To thrive in the role of planning engineer, you have a strong willingness to collaborate and work together with your colleagues to achieve your common goals. You work in a structured manner and follow a clear process. You also have good problem-solving skills where you can analyze problems without losing sight of long-term strategies. We are looking for someone who is stable as a person – you handle stress constructively and have the ability to remain calm even under pressure. You face setbacks with a good attitude and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the team, even when the pace is high or circumstances change.
What do we offer you?
Together with approximately 1300 colleagues at the Fortifications Agency across the country, you will work with a unique property portfolio to strengthen Sweden's total defense. We are proud of the socially important mission we have, where we contribute to a safe and free Sweden by owning, developing, and managing properties for total defense. Our tasks are varied, exciting, and challenging and require their competence. We work based on the state value system and strive for gender balance. Equal rights and opportunities are important to us.
Here you will have good opportunities for professional development, and we work to ensure that you can maintain a good balance between work and leisure.
