Actress Wanted for Horror Performance

Estrad Norr is a regional performing arts organization with a cultural policy mission to drive the collective performing arts activities in Jämtland Härjedalen. Our focus areas are Theater, music, musical theater, and dance.

We work to spread performing arts as an independent artistic expression and make performing arts accessible to audiences throughout Jämtland County. Much of our work is aimed at children and youth in the school environment, but we also work with public performances.

We collaborate with organizers, schools, and associations, which are the important link between us and the audience. By listening to the needs of the county, we can offer performing arts experiences on tour, at local stages, schools, and community centers throughout Jämtland Härjedalen.

JOB DESCRIPTION

For our newly written horror performance, we are looking for a female actress (age range 18-25) for a tour aimed at high school students. You will be part of Teater Barda, an ensemble consisting of people with various disabilities, and you need to be attentive and receptive, as well as have great patience and good adaptability.

The engagement includes:

• Rehearsals and performances of the show.

Rehearsal period: Divided into two periods from 2026-04-08 to 2026-06-17 and from 2026-08-17 to 2026-09-02

Tour period: 2026-09-03 to 2026-10-22

The employment is a play contract for the period from 2026-04-08 to 2026-10-22

Working days: Monday-Thursday (weekends off), which corresponds to an 80% employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a female actress who is experienced in performing both text and physical acting. A university degree or extensive professional experience in acting, dance, or circus is required. The casting is divided into two parts, where an initial selection of candidates will be invited to a digital interview with the project's director and Teater Barda's managing director, which will take place in December-January. After that, three to four candidates will be invited to a full-day workshop in Östersund on January 26, where we will work together with Teater Barda's ensemble. The role will be filled within a week after the workshop.
