JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Åre Libraries consist of the main library in Järpen, branches in Hallen, Åre, Duved, Kall, and Mörsil, and provide school library services to the municipality's primary schools and preschools. We at Åre Libraries are a team of about 10 people, and we work together to create accessible libraries that are safe meeting places and have an attractive range of media and activities.

You will primarily work at the Hallen library with branch responsibilities, purchasing and weeding, staffing the information desk, keeping the library space interesting and relevant through signage and book exhibitions, and welcoming groups from preschools, etc.

You will also work at the libraries in Åre and Järpen.

The position also focuses on minority and multilingual issues, which includes collaboration with the municipality's Sami coordinator, integration activities, SFI, etc., to make literature and program activities accessible and visible, and to receive and speak to booked groups.

You will have scheduled shifts at the above libraries, with some evening and weekend work included.

QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required for the position:

• A degree in library and information science or education that the employer deems equivalent, or you have ongoing studies in library and information science that you wish to combine with this work
• Good digital competence, easy to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license B and access to a car

Meritorious:

• Experience in outreach library work, pedagogical work, or service in another context

You have the ability to work independently, find it easy to collaborate, and are good at making contacts. You listen actively, communicate clearly, and handle disagreements constructively.
