nobox is a web agency specializing in WordPress. We have been around for fifteen years and have developed into one of the most reliable players in the industry since our inception. With us, uniqueness is a daily occurrence, and together we create digital craftsmanship. The concept of building websites with WordPress can be very broad, but we like to think we do it a bit more authentically. We build all websites from scratch, and our clients always receive a custom-developed website tailored to meet their company's specific needs. This places high demands on the web developer with us, but for our web developers to thrive, they need a stable partner – the safety group.

The safety group currently consists of one web developer but is set to grow by one more person this spring. This is due to nobox's growth and the increasing number of service customers we gain each month.

A developer's daily life in the safety group

Your main tasks will include:

• Technical support
• Preventive updates and maintenance
• Server management
• Ongoing development and urgent minor tasks
• Inspections

However, you will never work on larger projects or build your own websites from scratch. Your mission is to manage our clients' existing websites from a service perspective. Therefore, it is important that you do not get bored with repetitive work, as the maintenance tasks look roughly the same from month to month.

Your technical skills

Even though it is somewhat possible to plan the days, the technical support ensures that no day is like the other. Our clients' websites vary in nature, and you will need a broad skill set to solve the various support issues that arise. We believe that this role is particularly suitable for someone who has worked in web development before but no longer wants to work on larger client projects, preferring to work day by day with varying problem-solving and maintenance tasks. We see it as a given that you are an experienced WordPress developer with knowledge of PHP. We also believe that you are familiar with a world that includes roughly the following concepts:

• WordPress
• HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript
• SQL and database management
• Server software
• DNS
• GIT
• Yarn, npm/pnpm
• Automated deployment flows
• Adobe Suite or similar

If most of these terms are part of your daily life, nobox is the right place for you. We are confident that you can receive, understand, and solve a support issue relatively independently. However, you do not need to have won an Olympic gold medal in any of the above areas. A good foundational understanding combined with a desire to deepen your knowledge, learn more, and take on new challenges is sufficient. You enjoy WordPress, are satisfied with that choice of platform, and are motivated to learn more. Once on board, we will teach you what you need to know, but a solid foundation is a prerequisite. This is so you can work independently and take responsibility relatively soon.

We are looking for a curious, open-minded, and pedagogical person

Working in our safety team is more than just solving technical puzzles. Since you will meet all our clients in your professional role, it requires you to be service-oriented, pedagogical, and skilled in communicating verbally and in writing – both in Swedish and English. You will write emails and talk on the phone daily.

We believe that you enjoy people and helping them, are not afraid of technically challenging tasks, can work under time pressure, and are good at prioritizing tasks. We believe that you have a calm demeanor and the ability to keep a cool head. If multiple tasks come in at the same time, you need to be able to assess the order in which they should be solved, estimate the time required for each issue, communicate proposed solutions understandably, and maintain a pleasant tone. You are the person that clients and colleagues lean on when things get tough, so you need to be calm, secure, clear, and systematic.

We also believe that you have a desire to always learn more. It is also advantageous if you have the ability to view solutions and technical tools from multiple perspectives. It is essential to have high moral standards and a willingness to help, but always from a business-driven perspective.

It may sound like we are looking for a magician who can solve all problems on their own. This is not the case. Everyone working at nobox has daily contact and collaborates on projects. Everyone has their own specializations and interests, which we are happy to embrace. We do not have a ready-made template that everyone must fit into; rather, it is the collaboration, relationships, and community that make daily operations run smoothly. An important part of the collaboration is that you are good at communicating, drive your own work forward, are skilled at researching, and can absorb and write documentation. It is the people who work at nobox that are nobox, and all the good ideas we come up with are shared with each other. When we all take responsibility for our own work and ask for help when we cannot manage alone, the results are always good.

Working at nobox

nobox currently consists of fifteen employees who all work remotely. We have extensive experience working entirely digitally and remotely. We meet digitally every day, and the only difference from other workplaces is that we do not meet at the coffee machine as often. Once a year, we all meet in person for social activities. You do not need to live in Sweden to work with us, as long as your time zone matches ours.
