Join the Sports Unit in Sundbyberg City!

You have an eye for detail. And can see the big picture. Just like us.

The Sports Unit in Sundbyberg City is looking for someone who wants to help develop the city's sports facilities. Sundbyberg is growing rapidly but has managed to retain the advantages of being a small municipality. This means that decisions are made close to the ground and our employees have the opportunity to influence operations. As an employee in the Sports Unit, you will plan, implement, and evaluate operations together with supervisors and colleagues.

Within the unit, there are football fields, baseball arenas, sports halls, ice and curling rinks, recreational areas with running, skiing, and cycling tracks, as well as a swimming pool.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintenance, supervision, and repair work of sports fields, sports halls, recreational areas, and machinery. The work is service-oriented with technical and practical elements. Problem-solving is an important part of the job, and some tasks may be physically demanding.

What does the job entail?

Sports are an important part of life for many children, youth, and adults in Sundbyberg. For training, matches, and activities to function, well-maintained and accessible facilities are required. As operational staff in Sundbyberg City, you will meet everyone from engaged club leaders and athletes to children and young people who have just taken their first steps into the world of sports – as well as all the parents and visitors who frequent our facilities.

The mission is to create the best possible conditions for all these groups. This means providing good service, a professional approach, and contributing to ensuring that our sports facilities are safe, welcoming, and functional.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a B driver's license and experience driving heavy vehicles (e.g., tractor, implement carrier, ice machine).
  • Is service-oriented, solution-focused, and enjoys working both independently and in a team.
  • Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as basic computer skills.
  • Previous experience working in sports facilities or community life is an advantage.

The position is a permanent full-time employment, with evening and weekend work required. Start date by agreement. The last day to apply is January 12, but we process applications continuously, so do not wait to submit your application. We do not accept applications via email or mail, and we decline offers from those selling advertising and recruitment services.

Welcome with your application!

Additional Information

A large part of our operations is classified as critical societal functions.

The position may be subject to military placement within the framework of Sundbyberg City's role in total defense.
