Temporary Archivist at the City Archive

About the City Archive
The City Archive is the memory of the city and municipality. We manage and make available original documents from the 19th century onwards. We are also tasked with governing and developing the municipality's information management. Digitization and systematic working methods are important tools in this work.
Workplace
Our premises are centrally located in Uppsala, near Stora Torget, a ten-minute walk from the central station. We are about 30 employees in a flat process-based organization. We offer flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work.
Your Manager

Your Tasks
You will work in the City Archive's Research Service process. You will be part of a team responsible for and driving the process's work. The process is led by a process leader. In your work, you will serve in the City Archive's reading room, helping our visitors find information in our archives. You will handle various types of inquiries and provide responses by retrieving and issuing requested documents. This work also includes confidentiality assessments, including social services records. You will also be involved in our development work regarding how we meet our visitors digitally. Additionally, a wide variety of work within information management and public work is ongoing at the City Archive, where other tasks may become relevant. The temporary position is for 9 months, with a possible extension.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university degree in archival science of at least 60 credits. To succeed in this role, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You should also possess strong communication skills, allowing you to express yourself well in both speech and written presentations. Experience working in an archival authority with research services is considered an advantage.
As a person, you have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your behavior. You speak clearly, articulately, and engagingly in individual meetings and in small and large groups. Furthermore, you work well with others and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner. Last but not least, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively.
