As our Privacy Legal Counsel, you will play an important role in how we shape the future of Vattenfall and how we achieve our strategy. You will contribute to how we work with information and how we protect the privacy of our customers and employees. In this role, you will be part of Vattenfall's Nordic legal department, which consists of about 30 colleagues in various areas of expertise.

About the Role

You will act as Privacy Legal Counsel, located within our Group Data Protection Office, which is responsible for driving strategy and frameworks at the group level, but also has the responsibility to support our Nordic companies. The role involves both operational and strategic work with data protection-related issues. The tasks include supporting the organization in identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks of non-compliance with data protection legislation and contributing to Vattenfall's governing framework for the protection of personal data.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support on data protection-related issues, including drafting governing documents, guidelines, and supporting the business with assessments.
  • Maintain good knowledge of regulatory requirements and work proactively by educating the business on data protection issues.
  • In collaboration with GDPO and the group's other data protection officers, contribute to maintaining and improving our existing frameworks and processes to support Vattenfall's obligations under applicable data protection legislation.
  • Update legal templates. Identify data protection risks in connection with the company's operations and work on follow-up and related measures.
  • Manage incidents and conduct audits and controls.
  • Collaborate with the group's data protection coordinators across different business areas, among other things, to jointly identify risks and implement measures, build awareness, and raise maturity within the group.
  • Collaborate with other parts of the organization, such as IT and security departments.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A law degree at the university level.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with data protection issues and solid knowledge of GDPR.
  • Experience in other areas such as IT, AI, contract law, information security, project management, process development is an advantage.

We see that you are a driven person who can take on challenges with enthusiasm, independently solve problems within constantly evolving legal areas, and communicate in a tailored manner to the recipient. The ability to communicate in both Swedish and English is a requirement.
