The department works with category-driven purchasing where strategic, tactical, and operational buyers and supply chain managers work closely together within the given category to achieve short- and long-term goals with the supplier. The categories are mechanics, ammunition, and systems/electronics. We are growing further and are therefore looking for several tactical buyers for several of our categories.

Responsibilities and Tasks

As a tactical buyer, you will work with suppliers who manufacture components and systems based on BAE Systems Bofors' own specifications and documentation. Much of the work is centered on developing the current supplier base to increase capacity in anticipation of upcoming customer needs. You will have a broad responsibility for coordinating and developing purchases within a specific category. Through your work, you actively contribute to achieving our business goals – both in the short and long term – and play a key role in developing the purchasing function within the future industrial company.

The role of tactical buyer is newly established in the company and aims to bridge the existing roles of operational and strategic buyers. The primary task of the tactical buyer is to translate BAE Systems Bofors' purchasing strategies into practical action, focusing on delivery precision, quality, and competitive terms.

Your daily tasks include, among others:

• Negotiating prices with suppliers
• Preparing RFI, RFQ, and inquiry documents
• Conducting cost analyses and identifying opportunities for savings through optimization of purchasing processes.
• Updating purchasing data and creating reports to analyze purchasing patterns and results
• Identifying and managing risks in the supply chain to minimize disruptions in operations
• Working closely with other departments, such as production, marketing, and quality, to jointly meet the company's needs
• Representing purchasing in various projects and actively contributing to the development of the purchasing function

Travel within Sweden is a natural part of the position, with an estimated 20 travel days per year.

Qualifications

• University and/or college degree with a focus on economics, purchasing, logistics, quality, engineering, or law, or equivalent experience.
• Additionally, you have several years of solid experience in purchasing work, preferably within the manufacturing industry or a similar environment, as well as an interest in technical specifications and can understand and engage in dialogue with designers and suppliers regarding technical parameters.
• Basic knowledge of reading technical drawings and ISO9001
• Documented experience in negotiation and contract work
• Good knowledge of business systems (e.g., SAP, IFS, Oracle, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Understanding of production planning, logistics flows, and supplier management.
• Experience in quality and improvement work, production, and/or design is an advantage
• Good knowledge of both Swedish and the corporate language English, in both spoken and written form.
• Driver's license (B) as you will occasionally travel.
