To realize this, the municipal council has adopted a strategic and long-term development plan for preschool and school in Nässjö Municipality.

Åkerskolan is a F-6 primary school and adapted primary school 1-6 with an associated after-school program. The school is beautifully located near diverse nature in Nässjö Municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Department of Education and Childcare is seeking teachers for the adapted primary school at Åkerskolan.

At Åkerskolan, students in grades 1-6 with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities are enrolled.

About the Assignment:

As a teacher, you are responsible for planning and implementing instruction based on each student's individual conditions. You also lead teaching assistants who support the students during the school day, so they can complete their tasks and develop according to the goals of the curriculum.

The curriculum serves as the foundation for the students' academic, social, and personal development. Your role is to create a structured and stimulating learning environment where every moment of the day becomes an opportunity for learning. Together with the teaching assistants, you carry out the instruction according to your planning.

Teamwork and Collaboration

You will be part of a team together with teaching assistants where you will conduct most of your teaching. In addition, you are part of a teacher team that works on co-planning of instruction and joint planning of daily activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

The adapted primary school grades 1-9 is growing, and we need to expand our organization by recruiting more teachers.

For a permanent position, we are looking for a licensed special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities.

Desirable Competencies:

• Sign language and sign language support
• Experience working in adapted primary schools
• A genuine interest in working with children and adolescents is essential.
• The work is done in teams and requires good collaboration skills and enjoyment of working with others.
• Personal suitability is crucial in the recruitment process.

If you are a licensed primary school teacher and find it interesting and educational to start teaching in an adapted primary school, we can offer a temporary position. To extend the employment, you need to start studies to become a special education teacher with a focus on adapted primary school within a year.
