Service Technician at Anstalten Viskan
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.
Anstalten Viskan is a closed prison that started receiving inmates in March 2025. The largest professional group is prison officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, and more. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or industrial production. Anstalten Viskan is easiest to reach by car, and staff parking is available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a service technician at Anstalten Viskan, you will be responsible for operationally related system and property management such as handling locking systems and access control systems, the overarching alarm system of the prison service, and fire alarm systems. Your tasks will also include monitoring and troubleshooting in the prison service's systems related to assault alarms, Rakel/radio communication, cameras, etc.
To get started in the job, you will receive an introduction and close initial collaboration with the service technicians on site. Collaboration will also occur with other service technicians within the Saltvik operational area.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who works well with others and takes responsibility for their tasks. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions, and you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Furthermore, you make correct assessments and priorities in your work and have a good understanding of the professional aspects of the job. You continuously maintain your knowledge in the field.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Technical education at least at the high school level, with a focus on electricity or another area deemed relevant by the employer.
- Work experience as a security technician, or equivalent work experience deemed relevant by the employer. Recent experience is considered particularly meritorious.
- Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
- Driving license B.
We consider it meritorious if you have:
- Experience and/or education in other security systems such as alarms, locks, electricity, telecommunications, and image storage. Recent experience is considered particularly meritorious.
