Are you looking for a flexible, relationship-building, and responsible job?

If so, read on as we at the Staffing Units in the Elderly and Care Administration are looking for new substitutes for our units!

The Elderly and Care Administration has four staffing units responsible for different geographical areas: Center, Hisingen, Nordost, and Sydväst.

As a substitute at one of our staffing units, you will have the opportunity to work with some mobility and variation in both shorter and longer assignments. We offer substitute positions within care homes, short-term care, home care, and night and alarm units.

Job Responsibilities

Your assignment involves helping with everything that the elderly cannot manage on their own in daily life. For us, it is important to have a good and respectful approach, where we work together to give the elderly a meaningful life.

We offer you a job where you contribute to the well-being and joy of life of the elderly. Working in elderly care means providing good care and social support to the elderly. Your work includes practical help with personal hygiene and care, support during meals and activities, laundry, and cleaning, among other things. You will also perform health and medical tasks according to instructions and delegation from a nurse.

You choose which days you want to be available for work by entering them into our booking system. You will then be scheduled for shifts based on the needs of the operations. We are looking for someone who wants a developing part-time job, where you have the opportunity to make a difference!

Qualifications

To work with us, you need to have relevant experience and/or education in care and support. You enjoy working with people and focus on the individual. To work with us, you must be at least 18 years old in accordance with the Work Environment Authority's regulations on minors' working environment (AFS 2023:2, chapter 8).

As a substitute with us, it is important that you take initiative and can work independently. You are flexible with your working hours and in your work. You cannot have more than one active employment in the City of Gothenburg at a time.

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and start from everyone's equal value. You have an open and positive attitude as you have the needs of the care recipient as the basis for your actions. You find it easy to work together with others and take responsibility for your and the common tasks with the care recipients' best interests in focus.

To carry out the work effectively and safely with a focus on the individual's needs and wishes, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. We would like you to show grades in Swedish. The work includes documentation. To work in home care, it is required in several units that you have a driver's license and driving experience and/or cycling experience. If you can sign language, please mention it in your application.

To ensure high quality in our care and support, we prefer candidates who do not have care education but have the necessary prerequisites so that you can further your education to become a care assistant or nursing assistant through adult education. We will prioritize candidates who have the required prerequisites.

To work as a substitute, you need to show an extract from the criminal record. The criminal record must be presented personally and unopened. You order the extract yourself from the police's website here: https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/kontrollera-dina-uppgifter-i-belastningsregistret/ (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/kontrollera-dina-uppgifter-i-belastningsregistret/)
