About Us

Ward 61 has 18 beds where we care for and treat patients with surgical diseases in the vessels, upper abdomen, jaw, as well as ear, nose, and throat.

With us, you work with various specialties in a team with doctors and nursing assistants. We have close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and hospital dental care, among others. We also have a close collaboration with the ear, nose, and throat clinic as well as the vascular clinic, which makes combined service possible.

Working with us, you will learn a lot about the different specialties. We care for patients undergoing thrombolysis treatment due to occlusions in the blood vessels of the extremities, patients who are tracheostomized, and patients with issues from the upper gastrointestinal tract. Many of our patients come to the ward for both planned and urgent pre- and post-operative care. We investigate and care for patients with malignancies, and we provide aftercare for patients who have undergone surgery or radiation treatment at Sahlgrenska. Working with us, you will develop and deepen your knowledge and competence not only in nursing and treatment but also become accustomed to handling medical technology, such as medication pumps, dressings with VAC and PICO pumps. We prepare and administer medications and nutrition via tubes, PEG, as well as venous and central access.

Our work also includes mentoring nursing students according to the peer learning concept.

About the Position

We offer a job with varied tasks where you can develop in your role as a nurse. With us, recovery and development are in focus. We work according to individual schedules, and upon your hiring, you will have the opportunity for training during work hours to develop your unit-specific knowledge. The time is arranged in consultation with the manager.

The position means that you will be employed in Ward 61 and may involve some outpatient work. We are keen on providing qualitative supervision and tailor your introduction based on experience and knowledge.

Qualifications

Registered nurse. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Other

Interviews may take place continuously during the application period. Ward work may involve some weekend and evening work.
