The oncology area is county-wide with operations at the University Hospital in Örebro. Here we care for patients with tumor diseases and offer them adjuvant, curative, and palliative treatments. The care in the oncology area is based on a holistic view of our patients, which means considering physical, psychological, social, and existential aspects.

The oncology area consists of outpatient care, surgical and brachytherapy units, inpatient wards, medical treatment units, radiation therapy departments, and paramedical units. We investigate, treat, and follow up patients with various cancer diagnoses.

The University Hospital Örebro (USÖ) is one of the county's three emergency hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. Both in 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from the newspaper Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has about 3,500 employees. Contact Nurse, Oncology Outpatient Clinic

The contact nurse's mission is to work to increase safety and quality of care for the patient. The contact nurse has overall responsibility for the patient and relatives throughout the care chain. The mission includes having special availability, informing about upcoming steps in treatment, providing support during normal crisis reactions, and facilitating contacts with other professional groups. The contact nurse works in several teams from clinic level to regional level with networks in RCC - Mid Sweden.

The work also includes regular outpatient work such as telephone counseling, scheduling, outpatient visits, participation in team rounds, etc.

Licensed nurse. Experience and/or education in oncology is an advantage.
