The main purpose of working within LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons) is to strengthen the individual's opportunities to live an independent life and to actively participate in community life. You will work in a service residence but perform most of your duties in the users' homes. We work to build relationships and create conditions for an improved living situation and reduced social exclusion. We work preventively, with a low-arousal approach, and based on the individual's needs and possibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a residential assistant, you make a difference in people's lives. Your role is to support our users in achieving increased independence both at home and in social contexts. You motivate and support them in their daily lives, ensure that their basic care needs are met, and assist with household chores and practical tasks. The work also involves working based on implementation plans, collaborating with colleagues at your own residence and other residences within the unit, and maintaining contact with relatives, guardians, and administrators.

The position involves working according to a rolling schedule with day, evening, and weekend shifts as well as on-call duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a 2-year post-secondary education (YH) with a pedagogical focus such as social pedagogue or treatment pedagogue, or another education that the employer deems relevant for the position.

To succeed in this role, you need to have experience working with people with mental disabilities. The job requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. A B driver's license is an advantage.

As a person, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. Furthermore, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You can quickly change your perspective and approach. Last but not least, you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work.
