Program Leader for Mölndal Municipality

With knowledge, courage, and creativity, we develop our operations and contribute to making Mölndal an even better place to live and work. Welcome to make a difference in people's everyday lives every day!

The Community Building Administration is responsible for the long-term physical planning of the city and builds a sustainable city, based on a holistic view of urban development. The administration works purposefully to make Mölndal an attractive, sustainable, and successful city in the region.

The work on the new railway between Gothenburg and Borås is in full swing. The new railway will pass through Mölndal station and Landvetter airport, making Mölndal a future regional hub for all train traffic in Western Sweden. For Mölndal Municipality, the project means extensive development work where urban development, infrastructure, and sustainable travel meet.

We are now looking for a program leader who wants to drive this important work together with us.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a program leader, you will lead, coordinate, and drive the program to achieve its goals and create the benefits that Mölndal Municipality strives for. You will lead the program management group and prepare proposals for the initiation of projects and assignments that are decided by the program steering group.

The program is largely a collaborative organization. You are therefore responsible for good coordination between the program's projects, assignments, and initiatives as well as between the program and the municipality's various administrations. You will also ensure that the program collaborates with other ongoing projects and initiatives that affect the program's progress and deliveries.

Examples of projects and work within the program:

  • Development of detailed plans for railway facilities
  • Design and implementation of Mölndal Municipality's own facilities related to railway expansion
  • Development of expansion strategy
  • Preparation and coordination of agreements within the program
  • Planning and management of traffic and sustainable mobility during construction in collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration, Västtrafik, and other stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field, such as physical planning, community building, or infrastructure.

You have documented experience in leading large and complex projects or programs that span several years, preferably within the community building field or infrastructure. Experience from public operations or collaboration with municipalities, the Swedish Transport Administration, or other authorities is an advantage.

You have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Planning and Building Act (PBL), the Environmental Code (MB), and the Traffic Ordinance.

To succeed in this role, you need to have good leadership skills, communicate clearly, and have the ability to build trust and create a respectful working environment. You are analytical and can identify the core of complex issues and find solutions based on limited information. You are flexible in that you can quickly adapt your organization and planning to changing conditions, in this you need to be collaborative but also independent in your decision-making.

OTHER

We see diversity as a strength and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds.

We would like to inform you that your application is a public document according to the principle of public access. If you have protected personal information, you should NOT apply through the system but contact the responsible recruiting manager for handling your application. Contact details can be found in the advertisement.

Before a potential employment, we will check citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to present a valid residence/work permit or be able to prove that you are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.

In preparation for the recruitment work, we have made decisions regarding recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore firmly request not to contact media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
