As a Data Protection Officer at Södersjukhuset, you will play a key role in ensuring that we handle personal data in a legal, secure, and trustworthy manner.

The Legal and Security Section is tasked with supporting the hospital's operations and management in security, preparedness, law, data protection, registration, and archives. The section consists of specialists with various competencies who work both strategically and operationally.

Job Description

As a Data Protection Officer, you are an independent and advisory function according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You ensure that the hospital complies with data protection legislation and contributes to strengthening the privacy protection for patients and staff.

Your main responsibilities include:

• providing advice and support to operations and management on data protection issues
• reviewing and guiding operations and departments regarding agreements on personal data handling
• educating and increasing knowledge about data protection within the organization
• monitoring, analyzing, and reporting compliance with applicable regulations
• being the contact point for the Swedish Data Protection Authority (IMY)
• contributing to the development of secure and innovative digital solutions, including issues related to information security and AI
• having a coordinating and advisory role in the cross-professional working group Data Protection Committee

You will work closely with colleagues in information security, law, IT, and operations, and have an important role in reconciling regulations with practical needs and solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a legal or other relevant academic education and several years of experience working with data protection legislation. You are pragmatic, solution-oriented, and have the ability to see the big picture.

You work independently and take responsibility for driving your issues forward. At the same time, you enjoy collaborating with others and building good relationships within the organization.

You express yourself clearly and can explain law and data protection in a way that is easy to understand. You have good judgment and maintain a high level of integrity while being helpful and solution-oriented in your interactions with the operations.

We place great importance on personal qualities.

Competence Requirements:

• Academic education in law, social sciences, or another relevant field
• At least two years of qualified experience working with GDPR and other data protection legislation
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word

Meritorious:

• Law degree
• Experience working in healthcare
• Knowledge of information security
• Experience with data protection issues related to AI development or other digital development
• Experience in contract law or working with legal agreements in public operations
• Experience in conducting training
