We are looking for a vocational teacher for the Electrical and Energy Program.

Rekarnegymnasiet is Eskilstuna's largest high school with approximately 1250 students. The school is beautifully located near the Kronskogen nature area, just under a kilometer outside of Eskilstuna city center. We offer education in the fields of construction, electricity, vehicles, childcare and leisure, plumbing, economics, social sciences, and natural sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a vocational teacher in the Electrical and Energy Program, you will plan and teach students in core subjects related to electricity and automation. You will support and motivate young people in their development both socially and academically. Your role also includes helping students find internship placements (APL), following up on their progress, and collaborating with the labor market in Eskilstuna and surrounding areas. You will collaborate with other teachers based on the current curriculum, decided action plans, and the needs of the students.

With us, you will belong to the team for the Electrical and Energy Program, where we have five vocational teachers and two teachers in common subjects. We currently have about 100 students in the program and approximately 25 students in each class. You will be responsible for the students in a class together with another mentor. We are a stable and secure group with a lot of experience who work closely together. We are good at taking care of our students, and they achieve good results. We are proud that almost all students get employed after completing their studies.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a trained electrician and hold an electrical safety certificate; if you also have a vocational teacher's degree in electricity, that is a plus. If you lack a vocational teacher's degree, you need to be willing to educate yourself. You also have experience working as an electrician and hold a B driver's license. It is beneficial if you have experience working with young people from school, associations, or similar. Experience in teaching at the high school level based on the current curriculum is, of course, also good.

You are social and outgoing when meeting students and have an easy time making new contacts, creating good sustainable relationships, and always keeping the best interests of the students in focus. To thrive in the role, you are structured and engaged.
