Operations Manager Wanted for Seriefrämjandet in Malmö

About the Job

Seriefrämjandet is a non-profit association and center organization, as well as Sweden's organization for the art form of comic strips. We work to spread knowledge about the unique nature of comic art and develop Swedish comic culture through, among other things, the cultural magazine Bild & Bubbla, festivals, events, and international collaborations.

The association is in an exciting phase of change. In the coming months, we will move to new premises and scale up from regional to national operations. Therefore, we are looking for an operations manager who can hold the threads together, create structure, and lead with both heart and clarity.

Responsibilities

As the operations manager, you are the hub of the organization. You lead and coordinate daily work, administer, manage finances, projects, and the ongoing development of the organization. You are the contact person for the board and keep together the various parts of the association – from local associations to national and international collaborations.

You will:

• drive and develop the association's activities together with the board and staff
• be responsible for finances, budget, and accounting
• coordinate projects and activities
• maintain contact with partners in the cultural and civil society
• contribute to strategic development work and long-term planning

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has experience in leading and developing operations, preferably within culture or civil society
• has a good understanding of finances, organizational issues, and structure
• is good at collaborating, communicating, and creating engagement
• has the ability to build trust and inspire both internally and externally
• enjoys organizing, planning, and thinking long-term

You are a person who believes in the democratic power of culture and enjoys working both strategically and operationally. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, drive, and the willingness to develop the organization together with others.

Employment Type

Fixed-term employment for 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Scope: 60–100% (can be discussed).

Work Location

Placement in Malmö. Some opportunity for remote work is available.

Start Date

By agreement.

Salary

Seriefrämjandet applies individual salary setting.

Salary according to agreement.
