Workplace Description

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and for adults with substance abuse issues. We do this at special youth homes and LVM homes across the country. SiS also implements closed youth care and funds research to develop care and treatment. Regardless of where in our organization you work, or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS youth home Bärby outside Uppsala receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminal and substance abuse problems, sexually boundary-crossing behaviors, and boys with special supervision needs. The institution also has a department for reception and needs assessment.

We want to strengthen the institution with an engaged quality coordinator. The institution works based on a central quality unit with treatment secretaries, treatment coordinators, nurses, psychologists, and consulting physicians. Organizationally, the quality coordinator is under the quality manager and has a significant responsibility and influence to help ensure that the youth receive a safer and more legally secure care environment.

Job Description

Do you want to contribute to a safer and more legally secure care environment for our youth?

The role of quality coordinator is new within SiS, and the purpose of the role is to strengthen the home's ability to conduct proactive, legally secure, and systematic quality work. Your mission will be to contribute to the long-term development of quality in the operations.

Specifically, this means:

  • to coordinate and manage the home's systematic quality work so that early signals of deficiencies are captured and translated into improvement work.
  • to support the home's managers in handling deviations such as complaints, health and medical care deviations, Lex Sarah, IVO, and JO cases, and contribute to ensuring that legally secure processes are applied in the investigation work.
  • to assist the managers in the home's work to implement new governing documents, methods, and working methods.

The role means that you work independently but in close collaboration with the quality manager and the home's management team. You will also be part of a network of quality coordinators across the authority's homes, with opportunities for dialogue and experience exchange.

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in social work, behavioral science, or equivalent academic education combined with work experience that we assess to be equivalent.
  • Experience working with systematic quality work in operations regulated by SOSFS 2011:9.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have a strong commitment to quality issues with a focus on the rights of young people. You are analytical, structured, and meticulous with a good ability to drive and maintain processes. You have integrity and good collaboration skills to balance between a supportive and scrutinizing role. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work independently while being communicative and pedagogical, in order to support managers and employees in the development of the home's quality work.

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of administrative law, Lex Sarah, and regulations related to supervision.
  • Good knowledge of and experience in data collection, documentation, and analysis.

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you as an employee take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
