We are looking for a driven special educator
We are looking for a driven special educator who wants to work in a team for a larger preschool area in central Örebro. Does this sound interesting? Apply to us at Team City!
About the position
We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring that every child has the best conditions for learning and development. You enjoy collaborating closely with colleagues, principals, and educators, and want to be part of an engaged team.
Team City consists of several preschools led by six principals. You will be part of a team together with a special educator colleague, and you will support three principals each. As a special educator with us, you are an important and integral part of both BHT and FHT.
You will work broadly with both preventive work and guidance, as well as overall support for educators, conducting investigations and consultations, and coordinating contacts with various relevant parties. By creating environments that promote children's learning, development, and health, we can together achieve our goals.
Examples of tasks:
- be a qualified conversation partner, guide educators, and initiate appropriate measures in collaboration with other professionals based on children's needs, as well as maintain contact with relevant guardians
- work proactively and preventively, as well as follow up and evaluate implemented measures at the organizational, group, and individual levels
- identify, analyze, and participate in efforts to remove barriers and causes of difficulties children encounter in their teaching and learning environments
- in collaboration with educators, conduct assessments, action plans, and educational investigations
- collaborate with the preschool area's child health team
- contribute to facilitating the transition between preschool and primary school
- be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization
- work and document in the operational systems used
About the workplace
You will have your office at Engelbrektsskolan by the sluice and have walking/cycling distance to all preschools. At the same address are the existing special educator, principals, and support functions. The preschools in Team City are located in central Örebro and number 13 in total. The team consists of six principals, two special educators, an administrative coordinator, and an administrative assistant.
Approximately 4,530 employees work within the Preschool and Primary School Administration. We meet the young people of Örebro from their first day in preschool to their last day in primary school. Together, we are responsible for creating equal opportunities for the young people of Örebro and laying the foundation for a lifelong learning journey. With trust and courage, we build our preschools and schools together. We take on the challenges of the future, for the best of every child.
Qualifications
In the role of special educator, you are expected to be available to the work teams and work closely with the operations. You are confident in your role, take responsibility for your tasks, and have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge in different ways. You are attentive and flexible and collaborate well with others. Since the position involves some freedom under responsibility, you need to have the ability to structure your tasks and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge as you are a knowledge resource for others. Communicating clearly and ensuring that messages are conveyed is important to you, as is the significance of feedback and follow-up.
Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as document what the organization requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.
