We are now looking for a specialist in pediatric ophthalmology to join our team in Halmstad!

Your role with us

At the eye clinic in Halmstad, we have our children's clinic and we welcome children of all ages from all over Halland.

Here we also care for and examine premature infants and perform ROP screening with Retcam. As a pediatric ophthalmologist, you will work closely with our orthoptists. We also have a good and close collaboration with the children's clinics in Region Skåne and Västra Götalandsregionen.

To thrive with us, you need to enjoy working in an outpatient setting and have a good ability to work in a team.

Your role also includes contact and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as with opticians and healthcare centers.

The position is based in Halmstad, with the possibility to work some time in Varberg and/or Kungsbacka.

About the workplace

The eye clinic's more than 100 employees offer specialist care of good and high quality at our three locations in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad. We have outpatient services at all three locations, and in Halmstad, we have our own surgical unit with three operating rooms and access to inpatient care. From Halmstad, we also have an on-call line for all of Halland, where we are on standby evenings and weekends.

Annually, we conduct approximately 23,000 doctor visits, around 30,000 other healthcare visits, and 1,800 surgeries.

The eye clinic in Halmstad is located in bright and nice premises at the top of the entrance building. Here, ST doctors and experienced eye specialists work with various subspecialties. Our other staff is well-trained and prepares for doctor visits and has their own clinics. Here, eye nurses, surgical nurses, opticians, orthoptists, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in pediatric ophthalmology. You are a solution-focused person with good collaboration and communication skills. You are responsible and see a good approach to patients, relatives, and colleagues as a given. Furthermore, we see that you are structured in your work approach and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. We value that you are innovative and want to help drive our operations forward. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
