The Role of Nurse with Us

As a nurse at Smedjans short-term unit, you will be part of an engaged and supportive team where we together create a good working environment and have fun at work.

In your role, you will be responsible for leading nursing work and together with other staff make a collective assessment of the patient's needs for health care, rehabilitation, and care. The work is independent but takes place in close collaboration with a competent team consisting of nurses, physiotherapists/occupational therapists, and nursing assistants. You will also have dialogue and collaboration with several other actors, where problem-solving and cooperation are a natural part of everyday life.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse and enjoys working in a team. You find it easy to meet and collaborate with others, are confident in your professional role, and have a professional approach towards patients and colleagues. You are curious, eager to learn new things, and actively participate in the development of the organization. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as this is a prerequisite in daily work. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

About Us

Patients who cannot return home directly after hospitalization come to Smedjans short-term unit. The stay is time-limited and varies depending on the patient's needs. During the time with us, team-based follow-up of goals and continued investigations regarding changed needs are carried out in close collaboration with the planning team’s case managers. We also receive patients for end-of-life care and patients from home when home care services are insufficient.

Smedjans short-term unit is located in the Tölö district of Kungsbacka, about a 10-minute walk from Kungsbacka station. There are 50 short-term places distributed across four departments – two focused on somatic care and two for people with cognitive impairments. All departments provide end-of-life care.

At the unit, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and care staff work. Doctors from the Medical Participation Region Halland visit the residence twice a week.

We offer a permanent full-time position with placement according to agreement. You will work daytime weekdays on a 40-hour schedule with a flex agreement.
