In the administrative assignment, you will assess intellectual disabilities (ID) for 6-year-olds in preparation for potential admission to adapted primary school. The reception team at the department includes coordinators for the adapted primary school, doctors, special educators, social workers, and psychologists. The Tuna school area consists of several different units located around Eskilstuna. It is part of the adapted primary school, which currently has about 170 students.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a school psychologist, you contribute your psychological expertise to the school's work at the individual, group, and school levels. You are part of the student health team and work closely with school staff to help students thrive and develop both socially and academically. Your work includes educating, supervising, and advising school staff, both individually and in groups, so they can better support students' development. You will lead training initiatives and projects that promote students' schooling and well-being without providing therapy or treatment. The work also includes support and advice to guardians, writing referrals, and collaborating with external actors such as BUP and Habilitation.
About 50 percent of your assignment will involve working for the department with ID assessments. Decisions in cases are made as a team, weighing all parts of the assessment together. You and your psychologist colleague will evaluate each other's assessments.
We also have a network for school psychologists within Eskilstuna municipality where you will have regular collegial meetings and external supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS

You are self-assured and have the ability to adapt to the needs that arise throughout the day. As a person, you enjoy working proactively and are willing to take your own initiatives. You are committed and have the best interests of the students in mind. Experience in supervision or consultation is meritorious, as is previous work as a school psychologist or as a psychologist connected to schools. In this role, you will have many points of contact, both internally within Eskilstuna municipality and externally. Your strong communication skills and ability to build good relationships will be essential. You find it easy to express yourself both verbally and in writing.
