About us
The Oncology Day Care Unit is part of the Surgical and Oncology Clinic.
The clinic is responsible for the investigation, treatment, and follow-up of patients with surgical, urological, and oncological diseases. Patients come both via the emergency department and referrals from primary and specialist care. In addition to the Oncology Day Care Unit, there are also Breast, Prostate, and Colorectal Cancer Centers, a Surgical Outpatient Clinic, three inpatient wards, and a Clinical Research Unit. The Surgical and Oncology Clinic is one of the largest at the hospital, with about 300 employees.
The Oncology Day Care Unit has 24 day care places, two short-term care places, and a PICC line reception. In the day care unit, patients with breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer are treated. The PICC line reception has a hospital-wide mission. All units are open during the day, on weekdays, and are staffed by nurses.
The day care unit is a well-functioning unit with employees who have many years of experience and great competence; many nurses have oncology specialist training. Routines and working methods are designed based on patient safety, continuity for patients, and a well-functioning collaboration in the workgroup and in the care chain.
Your role
In the Oncology Day Care Unit, you will work as a patient-responsible nurse, and your tasks will primarily include; providing information and advice on oncological treatment, administering both chemotherapy and other treatments, as well as being a support to patients and their relatives. Your tasks will also include follow-up of given treatments and telephone advice.

- Are a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in oncology
- Have experience in oncology and preferably familiarity with chemotherapy treatment
- Have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
